Navigating the Tricosm — Spirit, Mind & Matter

Goldfish are known to stay small when kept in little containers, and to grow large when introduced to spacious lotus-strewn waters. We human beings are psychically sized in accord with the paradigms we inhabit. When we occupy brittle flatlands, our own beings are consequently truncated. Conversely, when we rediscover the multidimensionality of reality, we unfurl forgotten potentialities. But paradoxically, to become fuller is to become more empty as we realize that in this vast, interconnected tricosm of spirit, mind, and matter, all experiences ultimately derive from and accrue to the One, whose ecstasy lies at the center of it all.
In this five-day retreat, through discourse, meditation, and zikr, we will survey the mesh of the spiritual, mental, and physical worlds, rediscover our location within the tapestry, and rededicate ourselves as instruments of the Mystery from which all has come into being, and into which all is dissolving.
Pir Zia Inayat Khan carries the Sufi lineage of his grandfather, Hazrat Inayat Khan. He received his Ph.D. in Religion from Duke University.
