Finding a new Place

Working Group: Location Scouting

The search for a new location for the Zenith camp is perhaps the biggest task we currently face as an organization. If you would like to get involved, come to a meeting of the Working Group Location Scouting. This is where we coordinate who is researching in certain regions. There is also a detailed guide with contact points, websites and email templates, as well as a list of places that have already been contacted. Since we cannot post this kind of information on the website and need to coordinate our work with each other, attending the regular meetings of this working group is the best way to help with the search for a location.

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 7:00 p.m. CET on Zoom: Link to the meeting

Next meetings: January 14 – January 28 – February 11 – February 25

Criteria:

These are the basic criteria that we’ve agreed on are necessary for the camp. If you have an idea for a location or feel like looking around on your own, make sure they apply:

  • Seminar building or group house with over 40 beds
  • Sufficient sanitary facilities and a well-equipped kitchen
  • Centrally located in Europe and easily accessible by public transport
  • Beautiful grounds with plenty of space for our large tents and the tents of the participants
  • Detached, not part of a village, preferably in the mountains
  • Not too touristic, too big or too expensive for the camp

There are some other details (e.g. retreat options, storage space) that we discuss in the working group.

Synergy and intuition, as well as the swarm intelligence of our community, are important factors in this search. Do you have a gut feeling or know of places that cannot be found on the internet? Feel free to send us your ideas.
