Working Groups

As part of the restructuring of the Zenith Institute, many of the annual tasks and current organizational development projects were systematically assigned to specific working groups. The working groups are composed of members of the team, the board, the management, and all interested parties.

Below is a description of the working groups as of February 2026. If you are interested in contributing to the future of the camp, please contact Azim at board@zenithinstitute.com to find out the current dates.

The concept was developed at Camp 2024. The flower changes its appearance when projects are completed and others are added. A few working groups have now decided to take up their work not on a monthly basis, but as required. Most groups meet regularly. The meetings take place almost exclusively online.

Workcamp

This group focuses on the inner qualities of the work camp: How can the enriching and communal experience be made possible in new locations with different processes and shorter work camps? How can new people be attracted to the work camp? How is the work camp represented on the website? What opportunities are there for long-standing members of the work camp staff? The working group met in December 2024 and has adjourned until a new venue is found and the topic is to be taken up again. If you would like to be contacted about this, please let us know.

Location Scouting

This group is specifically concerned with finding a new location for our camp. Ideally, a new permanent location in the mountains will be found for 2027. You can find more details about this search on the Questions & Answers page, questions 22-29, as well as on the page set up specifically for this purpose. The group meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7.30 p.m. and is open to anyone interested. Do you have a possible location or would you like to actively participate in the search? You can find the link directly on the page Finding a Location. The group is led by Nirtan and includes 4 other permanent members.

Finances

The working group Finances has the task of ensuring that Zenith Camp operates within a secure financial framework. The camp is not profit-oriented, but would like to reward the people involved in organising the camp, as well as the teachers, musicians and translators, in a reasonably appropriate manner. The camp also aims to build up some reserves in order to be prepared for one-off expenses such as moving to a new location. All this requires reliable financial planning, which is summarised in an annual budget for the members of the association and approved by them. Two board members are currently active in the Finance Working Group. If you have experience in this area and are interested in getting involved, please get in touch.

Organizational Developement

The task of this group is to identify and establish the structures within which the Zenith Association will operate in the future. The structure of the working groups, which you can see visualised in the flower above, is the result of a vision quest in the summer of 2024. We continuously review whether the composition of the working groups supports the respective goals, whether new working groups are needed, and how the entire process can be supported. The group meets monthly on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Please contact us if you would like to participate.

Communciations

This working group summarises the communication activities that take place during and outside of the camp: regular newsletters, social media posts, and, in the next camp, photography, film and content creation. This also includes the ongoing maintenance of the website. At the moment, this is not a working group that meets regularly. Please get in touch with us if you would like to get involved.

Diversity & Social Justice

Diversity in our community at various levels is just as much a topic for this group as gender equality and inclusion. Special support for families and youth work also fall within its scope. Specifically, the group developed and introduced a protection concept ahead of Camp 2025 to increase the safety of all participants against forms of sexual violence. Are you interested in working on these projects? Let us know!

Logistics

This group takes care of the camp equipment and the practical organisation of future events. Together with the work camp group, it plans the practical aspects of setting up and dismantling the camp and everything else that needs to be prepared for successful logistics in the respective year. When a new location is found, this group deals with the logistics of moving the camp. The group has found that this topic is highly seasonal. Therefore, this group only meets when necessary.

Fundraising

This involves gathering donations at various levels to secure the association’s financial basis. In addition to fundraising within our community, this also involves tapping into new sources, such as foundations or sponsors. This group is currently being coordinated by Nora. Please contact the board if you would like to get involved.

Program

This group works primarily on the program for the coming year. The balanced consideration of our teachers’ offerings, the wishes of the community, the traditions of the camp, the conditions of the location, economic efficiency, and sustainability are all factors that must be taken into account. Would you like to suggest a program, offer one yourself, or participate in this working group? Then please get in touch with us.

General Coordination Assembly

The results of the individual working groups are compiled at this monthly meeting. Decisions are prepared jointly here and made if necessary. For reasons of transparency, participation in these meetings is open to the team, the board, and all those involved in a working group. The GCA thus provides broad-based support for the association with its central committees such as the team, management, board, and general assembly.
